We deserve better. Children and young people deserve better.

As Deputy General Secretary, I will continue to be a tireless, fearless advocate for our members and the children we work with.

Together, we will:

  • fight for better pay for teachers and support staff

  • campaign for more funding to invest in education

  • reclaim professional autonomy and get workload under control

  • organise to win in our workplaces

  • champion equality, social justice and international solidarity

As your elected president, I have been to Downing Street and parliament to demand better pay and funding. I gave evidence to the teachers’ pay review body on the recruitment and retention crisis in our schools.

This government promised a lot, but is failing to deliver.

I have helped lead campaigns for improved funding, free school meals and action to end child poverty. I am leading our Arts and Minds campaign, pushing this government to ensure we have a broad, balanced and creative curriculum for all.

I use my voice to challenge racism, sexism and discrimination. I helped develop resources for school staff to challenge sexism and online misogyny.

I have stood on picket lines fighting the threats of school closures and forced academisation. I have spoken at rallies against cuts to disability benefits and genocide in Gaza.

I continue to make the case for abolishing Ofsted and for assessment and curriculum reform.

The real strength of our union lies in the workplace. We need organisation and collective action to win for all our members – to boost pay, invest in education and get workload under control.

I am dedicated to leading a strong and united union alongside our General Secretary, Daniel Kebede, to hold this government to account and create a better education system.
